Day 1: Cape Town to Potberg 320 km

We leave the hotel in CAPE TOWN at 09h00 travelling on the N2 over the spectacular SIR LOWRY’S PASS and into the beautiful OVERBERG beyond. At DASSIESFONTEIN country shop we stop for refreshments. From there we drive through Bredasdorp to the SOUTHERNMOST POINT OF AFRICA at CAPE AGULHAS. The LIGHTHOUSE is well worth a visit.

After lunch, we depart to arrive at approx 16h30 at POTBERG in the DE HOOP NATURE RESERVE. No hiking the first day: we can prepare our bags (pack the daypacks), watch birds or just relax in nature’s splendour.
