DAY 2: Breakfast, lunch and dinner included

For those interested, an early rise to visit meerkats (Suricates) at their burrows guided by Grant, the meerkat man (www.meerkatmagic.co.za). Grant has been studying meerkats for the last seven years and communicates with them by using more then 30 hand signals and sounds. After breakfast, we drive for 20 min to an Ostrich Show Farm where you are taken on a tour by a specialised guide. The adventurous ones can ride or feed an ostrich. A further 20 min drive takes us towards the world famous Cango Caves. Here you take a short 1, 5 hour hike into the caves with a specialised guide.

Afterwards we leave for a farm in the Matjies River valley where we have lunch (approx. 25 min drive.)We leave the farm at 14h00 to cross from the Little Karoo to the plains of the Great Karoo via the breathtaking Swartberg Pass (known as South Africa's most beautiful pass). On the top, 1 583m above sea level, you look south towards the Outeniqua Mountains (70 km away) and north to the Nuweveld mountain range which forms part of the great African plateau (180 km away).
