DAY 2: Breakfast included

Optional early rise to visit Meerkats (Suricates) at their burrows guided by Grant the meerkat man (www.meerkatmagic.co.za). After breakfast we will take a 15 min drive to an Ostrich Show Farm where you go on a short tour. The adventurous ones can ride or feed an ostrich. We carry on for a further 20 min drive towards the world famous Cango Caves. The caves over a 1,5 hour walk inside with a specialized guide. Afterwards we can have lunch at either the restaurant at the Caves or Wilgewandel restaurant.

The cross over from the Little Karoo to the desolate expanses of the Great Karoo is via the breathtaking Swartberg Pass (known as South Africa's most beautifull pass). On the top 1583m (above sea level) you look south to the Outeniqua mountains (70 km away) and north the Nuweveld mountain range which forms part of the African Plato (180 km away). Arriving in Prins Albert in the late afternoon you can explore the picturesque town on your own, do a guided ghost walk or visit Lydia who has one of the largest private collections of crystals in South Africa. Dinner will be at one of the many eateries in town where we stay the night. (total distance for the day: 80 km)
