WHALE TRAIL HIKING

WHALES GUARANTEED or MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s how sure we are that you’ll experience some of the best land-based whale watching in the world – and the trail offers a whole lot more…

· Hikers should be reasonably fit.
· Reservations can be made for groups of six or 12 people only.
· The trail is suitable for children of eight years and older.
· There are no water points between overnight stops except during day one. Remember to fill water bottles before leaving for the day's hike.
· It is recommended that day five be walked at low tide. There is an alternative but less scenic trail for high tide. A tide table is available on request.
· The Southern Right whales usually arrive around July, mate and calve, and return to the cooler Antarctic waters in December.
· The flower season, which is dependent on the climatic conditions, usually peaks during August and September.
· Birding is best between September and April.
· Take special care when swimming along this coast, as the rip currents can be dangerous.
· Escape routes are for emergencies only.
· Hiking after dark is discouraged.
· Please help us recycle. Separate all rubbish(including food waste) into the relevant bins.
· Cellphone reception is sporadic.
